Job Description

The Marketing & Brand Communications Specialist plays a critical role in elevating the visibility, credibility, and perceived value of the Center of Workforce Innovations (CWI). This creative and strategic professional will develop compelling content, create engaging visual assets, strengthen brand clarity, and support organizational communications efforts across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate is equal parts storyteller, designer, communicator, and brand champion. Theyunder stand how strong branding, clear messaging, and impactful visuals influence audience perception and drive engagement. They are passionate about translating complex programs, partnerships, and outcomes into meaningful stories that resonate with employers, job seekers, educators, communityleaders, elected officials, and funders.

Job Responsibilities

Brand Management & Strategic Communications

Help maintain and strengthen CWI's brand identity across all communications and marketing
materials.

Ensure consistency in messaging, visual standards, tone, and organizational voice.
Support efforts to improve public understanding, awareness, and perceived value of CWI
programs and services.

Assist in developing communication strategies that align with organizational goals and
priorities.

Contribute ideas that improve brand clarity and audience engagement.
Content Creation & Storytelling

Create compelling written content for social media, websites, newsletters, email campaigns,
press releases, blogs, annual reports, and marketing materials.

Identify and tell success stories that showcase the impact of CWI's work.
Interview staff, partners, employers, job seekers, and community stakeholders to gather content.

Transform program data, outcomes, and workforce development information into audiencefriendly communications.
Graphic Design & Visual Communications

Design professional marketing materials including flyers, brochures, presentations, reports,
infographics, social media graphics, event signage, and digital advertising assets.

Develop visuals that enhance comprehension, engagement, and brand recognition.
Assist with photography, videography, and basic video editing projects.
Ensure all visual materials align with organizational branding guidelines.
Digital Marketing & Social Media

Support management of CWI's social media presence and content calendar.
Create digital campaigns that increase awareness, engagement, and participation in programs
and events.

Monitor performance metrics and recommend content improvements based on audience
response.

Maintain and update website content as needed.
Collaboration & Organizational Support

Work closely with program teams to understand and communicate services and outcomes.
Support special events, media relations activities, community outreach initiatives, and public
awareness campaigns.

Assist with preparation of presentations, grant-related materials, and stakeholder
communications.

Serve as a creative resource for departments across the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, communications, content creation, or branding. 
Strong graphic design skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design platforms.

Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
Experience managing social media platforms and digital content.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred

Experience working in nonprofit, workforce development, education, economic development, or public sector environments.

Knowledge of branding and brand strategy principles.
Photography, videography, and video editing experience.
Experience with website content management systems.
Familiarity with email marketing platforms and marketing analytics.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a standard office environment. Travel to all seven counties and other
agencies or a government unit is required. Trips outside the Region and overnight trips for meetings and/or training are required on an ‘as requested’ basis.

Must be able to travel independently, provide own transportation, and demonstrate proof of
insurance at $100,000/$300,000
