    Job Description

Device Brand Studio, an internal agency within the Devices group at Amazon, is seeking a talented Brand Designer to help bring new Amazon offerings to market, products, services, and features within our devices portfolio. The Brand Designer will execute brand identity and creative assets for product lines and campaigns within Amazon Devices, working within established brand systems and creative direction.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in visual design, typography, and brand systems, and the ability to take creative direction and translate it into polished, on-brand work across a range of formats. You will work closely with creative directors, art directors, and copywriters to bring concepts to life, iterating quickly based on feedback and factoring in customer and business requirements. You should be comfortable presenting your work to peers and leads, taking direction well, and knowing when to ask questions versus when to execute. You should have working knowledge of brand guidelines and creative briefs at a top consumer-facing brand like Amazon.

Because the work is varied and fast-paced, you should have strong craft fundamentals and the ability to manage your own time across multiple projects. You will partner with creative directors, art directors, copywriters, and production to deliver design work across product detail pages, merchandising assets, retail fixtures, and packaging.

This role is for a design-forward contributor who executes with precision, takes direction well, and is looking to grow their craft within a fast-moving in-house creative team.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Execute brand-consistent design work across digital, retail, and packaging touchpoints, guided by established creative direction
    • Apply brand guidelines accurately and consistently across a range of formats and surfaces
    • Collaborate with creative directors, art directors, and copywriters to bring concepts to life
    • Iterate quickly on design work based on feedback from creative leads and stakeholders
    • Prepare and organize design files and assets for handoff to production and other teams
    • Contribute ideas and point of view in creative reviews, while executing to the direction set by leads
    • Manage time and priorities across multiple concurrent design requests

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
