Brazing Machine Operator – Carbide Tools (Horizontal & Vertical Brazing)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Brazing Machine Operator to operate horizontal and vertical brazing machines for carbide drills and reamers. The ideal candidate will be able to read CAD prints, understand tooling specifications, and ensure consistent, repeatable brazing results.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate horizontal and vertical brazing machines for carbide drills and reamers
- Read and interpret CAD prints, drawings, and work instructions
- Inspect tools for runout, alignment, concentricity, and overall quality
- Measure and verify runout using gauges, indicators, and other inspection tools
- Monitor brazing temperatures, filler materials, and joint quality
- Perform minor machine adjustments and routine maintenance
- Identify defects and take corrective actions to meet quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, quality, and engineering teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience operating brazing machines (horizontal and/or vertical preferred)
- Knowledge of carbide tooling, drills, reamers, and adapters
- Ability to read and interpret CAD prints and technical drawings
- Proficient in using measuring tools (dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to speak and understand English for instructions, safety, and documentation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience brazing carbide to steel
- Experience with quick-change and hex adapter systems
- Manufacturing or tooling industry background
- Familiarity with quality standards and inspection processes
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and handle tooling and fixtures as required
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
