This exciting onsite role allows you to collaborate with a passionate team of innovators dedicated to pet nutrition and quality. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing our manufacturing processes, embracing challenges as a problem solver while maintaining customer-centricity. Offering a competitive salary of $55,000–$65,000 per year, along with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
The Quality Assurance Supervisor leads and supports QA Technicians, serving as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and acting as back-up for QA roles as needed. This role oversees onboarding and training of QA staff, manages scheduling, timekeeping approvals, and ensures adequate QA coverage.
Responsibilities include managing Quality Systems (SOPs, SSOPs, GMPs), SQF standards, internal audits, and Quality Control programs, including laboratory testing and data analysis. The supervisor oversees raw material and finished product testing, vendor compliance, batch record review, product release, and investigation of deviations.
The position also maintains customer and product specifications, trends quality data for continuous improvement, coordinates mock recalls, and supports process improvements through research and technical quality operations. Strong leadership, regulatory compliance, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to maintain high-quality standards and teamwork across the facility.
To excel as a Full Time Quality Supervisor at Barrett Petfood, a diverse set of skills and expertise is essential. Candidates should possess strong organizational capabilities, as you will manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Proficiency with computer software—including Windows, Word, Excel, and email—is crucial for reporting and analysis. Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, are necessary for effectively conveying complex information to management, vendors, and suppliers. A technical understanding of product inspections and testing methods is vital, encompassing instrumentation testing for protein, moisture, fat, and microbiological tests.
Attention to detail when reviewing documentation and data accuracy is essential. The ability to work collaboratively and objectively with production staff, while maintaining professionalism under pressure, is key. A bachelor's degree in food science or a related field, or comparable experience in food manufacturing, along with familiarity with SQF or other GFSI food programs, is highly desired to ensure adherence to industry standards and practices.
