Bread Slicer & Packer Hourly Rate: $20.00 per hour Shift Schedule: - Wednesday - Sunday ( Weekends Are Required)
- 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
As a Bakery Packager, your main duties will involve the slicing and packaging of all our wholesale and retail bread. You will be well versed in the quality standards of our products and our packaging standards so that the end-product is consistently of the highest quality.
Activities & Responsibilities: - Learn the different bread quality specifications, bread is cool and ready to be packed cooling time
- Learn the slicer operations
- Prepare packing area for daily production and maintain in clean working order
- Ensure packaging is kept clean and orderly and categorized in the most efficient manner
- Assure that the work area has the required tools, components, and materials to perform your designated tasks.
- Maintain a clean and clutter free work area, following all Company work and food safety guidelines
- Notify supervisor of any product shortages or quality failures
- Calculates inventories and packaging paperwork as assigned
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
- Present a positive attitude, have good interpersonal skills, and be self-motivated.

Physical Demands: - Move cooling racks in packing room and unload them for production
- Manually pack bread in bags, boxes and bread racks according to orders on invoices
- Arrange bagged orders on route racks according to delivery sequence
- Assist drivers in loading delivery trucks
Minimum Qualifications: - Be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work as a team player
- Must display the ethical and professional standards set forth by Tartine
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (minimum of 8 hours)
- Must have valid Food Handlers Certificate
- Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds or more
- Stamina and availability to work at least 40hrs per week, including weekends and some holidays.
- **Forklift License is a PLUS
