Break Fix Technician

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Break/Fix Technician to join our client's IT field support team near Rochester, NY. In this role, you will provide hands-on technical support for desktops and laptops, including repair, imaging, replacement, and on-site service for end users across New York State. The position requires timely response to dispatch calls, travel within the region, and adherence to established service-level requirements.

Responsibilities of the Break/Fix Technician will include:

• Perform Level 2 hardware repair, troubleshooting, and imaging for state-issued devices.
• Respond promptly to customer dispatches and service requests within assigned coverage areas.
• Travel to client locations to perform installation, maintenance, and break/fix services.
• Ensure accurate inventory management and asset tracking during repair and delivery processes.
• Maintain flexibility to meet service scheduling needs.
• Complete and submit work orders, timesheets, and expense reports as required.
• Serve as a point of contact between the technical team and end users.
• Operate and maintain a company vehicle and manage equipment stock.

Qualifications of the Break/Fix Technician:

• Associate degree in Computer Science (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in field services support.
• Minimum 2 years working with PC hardware, peripherals, structured cabling, operating systems, and common software               applications.
• Must hold current hardware certifications for warranty repairs on HP and Dell equipment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly within the region.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $25-$30/hr.
