Breakfast Attendant (Hotel) | Morning Hospitality & Food Service Position

Are you someone who enjoys staying busy, interacting with people, and creating a welcoming environment? We're looking for a friendly, dependable Breakfast Attendant to join our hotel team.

As a Breakfast Attendant, you'll help create one of the most important parts of every guest's stay—the complimentary breakfast experience. You'll prepare and maintain the breakfast buffet, keep the dining area clean and inviting, assist guests, and ensure every visitor starts their morning with exceptional service.

Job Summary

The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for preparing, presenting, and maintaining the hotel's complimentary breakfast while delivering outstanding guest service. This position ensures food is fresh, fully stocked, attractively presented, and served in accordance with brand standards and all health and food safety regulations.

The Breakfast Attendant also maintains a clean dining area, assists guests throughout breakfast service, monitors inventory, and helps create a welcoming atmosphere for every guest.

Essential Responsibilities

Guest Service

  • Welcome guests with a friendly and professional attitude.
  • Provide outstanding hospitality throughout breakfast service.
  • Answer questions about breakfast offerings, hotel amenities, and local attractions.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and special needs.

Breakfast Preparation & Service

  • Prepare and set up the complimentary breakfast buffet.
  • Cook or prepare breakfast items according to brand standards.
  • Continuously replenish food, beverages, utensils, condiments, and serving supplies.
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, appearance, and temperatures.
  • Ensure breakfast remains fully stocked throughout service.

Food Safety & Sanitation

  • Follow all local health department regulations and food safety guidelines.
  • Practice proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control.
  • Rotate inventory using First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize food preparation equipment, serving stations, and beverage machines.

Dining Room Maintenance

Maintain a clean and welcoming breakfast area by:

  • Cleaning tables and chairs between guests
  • Sweeping and spot-cleaning floors
  • Emptying trash receptacles
  • Sanitizing food service areas
  • Keeping serving stations organized and attractive
  • Restocking supplies throughout breakfast service

Inventory & Organization

  • Monitor breakfast inventory and supplies.
  • Notify management of items that need replenishment.
  • Prepare the breakfast area for the next day's service.
  • Help minimize food waste while maintaining excellent guest satisfaction.

Hotel Operations

  • Follow all hotel safety and security procedures.
  • Report maintenance concerns or equipment issues immediately.
  • Communicate guest feedback to hotel management.
  • Assist with light cleaning of public areas after breakfast service as needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently bend, reach, lift, carry, and twist.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Work around commercial kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals.
  • Work in refrigerated and warm kitchen environments.

Work Schedule

This position generally works early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on hotel occupancy and business needs.
