The Breakfast Host / Breakfast Attendant is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and cleaning the hotel’s complimentary breakfast area while providing friendly and attentive service to guests. This position ensures all breakfast items are properly prepared, stocked, displayed, and maintained in accordance with Home2 Suites by Hilton brand standards, food safety requirements, and hotel procedures.
The Breakfast Host creates a welcoming environment for guests and ensures the breakfast area remains clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout service.
• Arrive on time and ensure breakfast is completely prepared and ready before the scheduled opening time.
• Prepare, cook, heat, and display breakfast items according to hotel and brand standards.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and complete required food production, hot-holding, and temperature logs.
• Continuously monitor and replenish food, beverages, condiments, utensils, plates, cups, and other breakfast supplies.
• Ensure all food and beverage items are fresh, properly labeled, rotated, and stored according to food safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized breakfast area throughout service, including tables, counters, floors, equipment, and beverage stations.
• Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner and assist with breakfast-related questions or requests.
• Monitor guest traffic and prepare additional food as necessary to minimize waste while maintaining adequate availability.
• Properly break down and clean the breakfast area after service.
• Clean and sanitize breakfast equipment, counters, dishes, utensils, storage areas, and workstations.
• Properly store remaining food and supplies following hotel and food safety guidelines.
• Remove trash and maintain clean and organized storage areas.
• Notify management of low inventory, equipment problems, maintenance concerns, or food-quality issues.
• Follow all Home2 Suites by Hilton brand standards and hotel breakfast procedures.
• Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements.
• Wash hands and use gloves or other required PPE appropriately.
• Prevent cross-contamination and follow proper food handling and storage procedures.
• Maintain required temperature, production, cleaning, and sanitation documentation.
• Follow proper procedures for cleaning chemicals and food-contact surfaces.
• Maintain current food safety certification when required by hotel policy or local regulations.
In addition to the essential functions, this position may be required to:
• Assist with breakfast inventory and supply organization.
• Receive and properly store breakfast deliveries.
• Assist with deep cleaning of breakfast equipment and storage areas.
• Communicate guest concerns or maintenance issues to management.
• Assist other departments, when necessary, based on hotel operational needs.
• Previous food service, breakfast, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain breakfast standards with limited supervision.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food presentation.
• Ability to follow recipes, preparation instructions, food safety procedures, and brand standards.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain regular attendance.
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• ServSafe or other recognized food safety certification preferred
This position requires frequent standing and walking as well as bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movement.
The team member must be able to safely handle breakfast supplies, food products, dishes, equipment, and cleaning materials.
Reports To: Executive Housekeeper / General Manager
The Breakfast Host is expected to communicate effectively with Housekeeping, Front Desk, Maintenance, and Management to ensure breakfast operations and guest needs are properly addressed.
Due to the nature of hotel breakfast operations, this position requires early morning availability and may include weekends and holidays. Scheduled hours may vary based on hotel occupancy and business needs.
