Organization Information Centrally located between four major cities in KY but situated among idyllic farmlands, Breckinridge County offers access to the Ohio River, tons of community pride, and a top performing school system. Breckinridge County is the sixth largest county geographically in the state of Kentucky with 572 sq. miles. The Breckinridge County School District consists of six schools: Breckinridge County High School, Breckinridge County Middle School, Ben Johnson Elementary, Custer Elementary, Hardinsburg Elementary, and Irvington Elementary.
