Job SummaryThis position is primarily responsible for producing wort and maintaining brewing equipment and facility.Primary Job ResponsibilitiesComplete brewing process in a safe and efficient manner. This includes but is not limited to milling mashing and lautering wort boiling cooling and transferring to Storage vessels.Repair brewery equipment with assistance from other Brewhouse employees.Completion of daily cleaning and maintenance checklistsAid with yeast propagation following Companys process.Maintain cleanliness of all areas in the brew house.Work with Lab Technician to ensure our product meets our standards of the highest quality.Maintaining the use of standard operating procedures unless otherwise instructed.Communicate regularly and efficiently with Granite City staff.Maintain inventory as needed. Report any low levels of inventory to your supervisor when necessary.Arrive to each shift on time with a positive attitude.Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time.Perform others duties as assigned.RequirementsStrong planning and project management skills with the ability to work well under pressure and to manage multiple projects with excellent attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills.Passion and commitment for brewing.Able to lift heavy objects empty kegs 50 pound malt bags etc. above five feet in heightFrequentlyStanding for extended periodsAble to enter and exit brewery vessels for cleaning and inspectionWork in environments of 32 to 100 degrees FahrenheitAble to understand MSDS and handle chemicals utilized in the breweryAble to multi-task and work both unsupervised and as part of a teamEducational RequirementsHigh School Degree or EquivalentBrewing experience preferred but not requiredValid Drivers LicenseMust be able to pass a Motor Vehicles Records background checkMust be able to work a flexible schedule of nights days weekends and holidays
