Reporting to the Associate Professor, Fordham Graduate School of Education, the VCPA Research Assistant will help VCPA develop and implement a strategy to contact, survey, and interview people associated with the VCPA internship programs to document the program's benefits. The Research Assistant will help design and implement surveys and interview protocols to ascertain whether the internships provide teens with meaningful employment, help them explore green college and career possibilities, help them become more environmentally responsible, and/or provide job skills training. You will recruit participants and gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative data through surveys and interviews with current and former interns, program managers, and families.
Essential Functions
Reviews current data that VCPA has on alumni and identify initial trends and gaps in information.
Develops and implements processes for recruiting participants via text, email, and social media.
Develops and carries out surveys and interview/focus group protocols for current and former interns, program staff, and families.
Analyzes and interprets quantitative and qualitative data using statistical methods and qualitative data analysis software.

Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at Fordham University.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
Experience and/or coursework in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods.
Experience taking initiative, being flexible, and handling multiple responsibilities effectively.
Ability to analyze quantitative and/or qualitative data.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Organization and time management skills.
Ability to think analytically.
Demonstrated effectiveness in communicating with a variety of audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience living or working in one of the Bronx communities served by VCPA (not including the Fordham campus).
Enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude.
Ability to speak one or more languages spoken in the Bronx community served by VCPA internships.
Interest in career development, nature, and/or youth development.
