The belief in sustainability within our company's practices creates a focus on client success and partnerships that are important to our communities and our environment.Position A Day in the Life of a Bridge Engineer (EIT) at HansonHere's a snapshot of what you would do in this role:Assist and participate in design of bridges and structuresAssist and participate in the inspection of in-service bridges and structuresConduct analysis and design, calculation, preparation of specifications, details, and construction plansAssist and participate in construction engineeringConduct observation and documentation of construction activityConduct evaluation of construction for compliance with contract documentsInterpret plans for design intentOther duties as assignedWhat We're Looking For We feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:Skills Experience with MicroStation preferredExperience with MS Office Suite preferredExperience with AutoCAD, LPILE and RISA 3-D a plusMust be able to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and/or public stakeholdersMust be able to build effective relationships with internal and external client basesMust be able to work independently and as a team member to problem solve and learn new technical skillsInterest in experiencing a variety of assignments is importantEducation/Experience Bachelor's degree in civil engineering18 credit hours of structural engineering coursework (may include design project credit hours if your role was structural). For those 6 or fewer credit hours short of the 18 credit hour requirement, proof of class enrollment to achieve this level is required (reimbursable).The ability to sit for the 16-hour NCEES Structural examRegistration as an Engineer Intern (EI) with the Illinois Division of Professional Regulation required or the ability to obtain in 6 months, or an equivalent registration from another jurisdiction recognized by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES)Demonstrated excellence in academiaCandidate may be recent graduate or an experienced individual with up to 3 years of experience (salary commensurate with experience)Candidates with a master's degree in structural engineering are preferredCompensation range: $76,000 – $95,000Benefits Competitive compensationPerformance bonuses401(k) with matching contributionEmployee Stock Ownership PlanComprehensive health & well-being plansFinancial wellness plansWork-life balance programsWant to know more?
