You will be responsible for the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects. This position works closely with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design and delivery. As a member of the team, you will contribute to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects for HNTB's clients.What You'll Do:Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.Responsible for preparation and/or modification for select portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.Develops project quantities and assists with development of cost estimates.Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.Able to self-sufficiently complete various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.Performs other duties as assigned.What You'll Need:Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, orMaster's degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experienceWhat You'll Bring:Structure design for transportation projects (2-3 years minimum experience preferred)Developing preliminary and final plans for bridges, retaining walls, and miscellaneous structuresResponsible for preparation and completion of structural engineering designs that are responsive to project needsPerform quantity calculations and develop construction cost estimates as requiredPerform and check design calculations and drawingsIndependent problem solvingWorks closely to coordinate with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projectsCoordination and preparation of design details, plans, and drawings within the assigned taskAssist and guide younger engineers and internsExercise strong judgement and initiativeHelp supervise, schedule and check work of project team membersResponsible for self-productivity, and on-time, on-budget projectsWhat We Prefer:Experience with AASHTO LRFD with California amendmentsExperience with bridge design software such as CSiBridge, CONSPAN, and RC-PierKnowledgeable in MicroStation and/or AutoCADExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAdditional InformationClick here for benefits information: HNTB Total RewardsClick here to learn more about Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/VeteranVisa sponsorship is not available for this position. #NF #BridgesLocations:Oakland, CA#J-18808-Ljbffr
