Bridge Engineer

GPI seeks a Bridge Engineer familiar with the design of bridges for NYSDOT, PANYNJ, NYCDOT, or other NY agencies to join our team in our Melville or Manhattan offices. We seek someone with a good work ethic, a desire to learn, the willingness to work collectively with our team, and the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects. Responsibilities: Perform structural analysis and design of new and rehabilitated bridges Prepare and ensure documents meet NYSDOT drafting standards, contract requirements, and QA/QC procedures Participate in or lead bridge inspections Work independently on assigned tasks while coordinating with Project Managers, Designers, and various agencies Provide engineering support during construction Mentor junior engineers and review their work for accuracy and completeness Qualifications: BS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering EIT is required, although a New York State PE is preferred. A New Jersey PE is a plus. 5 to 10 years of experience working in the bridge industry Experience working in a team environment, providing technical direction to a design team on minor and major bridge projects
