OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader to support NYSDOT Biennial Bridge Inspection contracts throughout New York State. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer who enjoys field work, leadership responsibilities, and helping maintain critical infrastructure across the region.
Responsibilities
- Lead bridge inspection teams on NYSDOT inspection assignments
- Perform structural inspections of bridges and related infrastructure
- Document findings, deficiencies, and recommendations
- Coordinate with NYSDOT and internal engineering staff
- Prepare and review inspection reports
- Ensure inspections are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule
Qualifications
- NYS Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum 3 years of recent bridge design or bridge inspection experience
- NYSDOT Team Leader approval preferred or ability to obtain approval
- Strong understanding of bridge inspection standards and safety procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be physically capable of:
- Working at heights
- Climbing ladders and scaffolding
- Operating aerial lifts or under-bridge inspection equipment
- Working in confined spaces and adverse weather conditions
