Mott MacDonald, a global engineering and advisory consultancy, is seeking a motivated bridge engineer to support bridge and asset management initiatives for public and private sector clients across North America. The role focuses on bridge management systems, infrastructure data analysis, and transportation asset management planning.Work ArrangementThis position may be structured as hybrid, in‑office, or remote depending on project needs and candidate location.Travel ExpectationsTravel is not expected frequently for this role; however, occasional travel may be required for client meetings, workshops, or periodic site visits. Anticipated travel is typically minimal.ResponsibilitiesSupport bridge management system (BMS) implementations and asset management projects.Assist with bridge inventory management, preservation planning, and infrastructure data analysis.Work under the guidance of senior engineers while progressively developing independent problem‑solving skills.Contribute to Transportation Asset Management Plans (TAMPs), risk and resiliency assessments, and strategic investment analyses.Coordinate with bridge inspectors, software vendors, and internal team members to support project delivery.Prepare technical reports, presentations, meeting notes, and action items.Help incorporate safety, sustainability, resiliency, and equity considerations into asset management workflows.Participate in team meetings and support business development efforts as needed.Candidate QualificationsMinimum 3 years of experience in bridge engineering, asset management, inspection, or related civil engineering work.Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.Familiarity with National Bridge Inventory (NBI) data, AASHTO bridge element concepts, or bridge inspection practices is preferred.Strong Excel skills; exposure to Python programming or data analysis tools is a plus but not required.Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or spatial data is a plus.Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or progress toward PE licensure preferred.Excellent written, communication, and teamwork skills.What We OfferMentorship and training in bridge management tools and consulting practices.Opportunity to work with a global engineering and advisory consultancy.Exposure to transportation asset management planning and infrastructure strategy projects.A collaborative environment supporting professional growth and career development.Benefits & RewardMott MacDonald provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes 401(k), medical, dental, and vision insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, paid holidays, PTO, parental leave, and company‑paid life insurance.
