Bridge Structural Project EngineerDewberry is currently seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineer for its New York, NY office. The successful candidate will design simple and complex bridges (primarily of steel, concrete, and precast/pre-stress construction) and a variety of transportation-related structures (retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, and other miscellaneous structures) using applicable software for public clients including NYSDOT, NYCDOT, and MTA. The bridge design work encompasses new and replacement bridges, bridge widening, and bridge rehabilitation. Individuals will perform analysis across all design phases, create structural models, perform structural calculations, and produce final plans. The candidate must work independently, lead a team of structural engineers and drafters, and coordinate with other project disciplines while working closely with clients to meet their objectives.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for specific phases of structural project development, including inspection, analysis, design, development of contract plans, cost estimates, and technical specifications and reports.Assigns tasks to and coordinates with entry-level engineers, technicians, or administrative staff.Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.Coordinate with contractor on design-build contracts.Required Skills & Required ExperienceBS in Civil Engineering (MS in Structural Engineering preferred).NY PE license, or ability to receive a NY PE within one year.Minimum 5 years of experience working on bridge transportation projects; sound oral and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills; familiarity with CADD (MicroStation or AutoCAD); and a desire to work in a team environment.Experience with NYSDOT and NYCDOT design standards and current state of practice such as accelerated bridge construction and prefabricated bridge elements is preferred.Design‑Build experience desirable.A clean driving record is required.Salary RangeThe projected range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
