Bridgeport Mill & Lathe Precision Machinist — Fremont, CA

Step into a shop where craftsmanship still matters. As our Manual Machinist in Fremont, CA, you’ll take a print from concept to finished part—setting up your own machines, proving out first articles, and holding tight tolerances on one-off and short-run work.

A day in the life

  • Start of shift: Review blueprints and work instructions, choose tooling and workholding, and set up a Bridgeport mill or a conventional engine lathe.
  • First article: Touch off tools, zero your references, and run turning, milling, drilling, and tapping operations. Verify dimensions with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Production: Maintain tight tolerances while adapting to varying materials and part features. Troubleshoot chatter, finish, or dimensional issues and make on-the-fly adjustments.
  • Collaboration: Partner with engineers, supervisors, and teammates to refine setups and improve throughput and quality.
  • Closeout: Document results, perform routine machine maintenance, and keep your area clean and organized.
