Job Title: Wi-Fi Architect
Location:- Philadelphia, PA
Job Description:
- Perform exploratory testing of Wi Fi features across CPE devices (Gateways, Routers, Extenders).
- Validate Wi Fi functionality including:
- SSID creation and management
- Security modes (WPA2/WPA3, WPS)
- Band steering, client steering, mesh behavior
- Roaming, handoff, and multi AP scenarios
- Test real world usage scenarios such as:
- Multiple client types (mobile, laptops, IoT, smart TVs)
- Dense client environments
- Interference, channel congestion, and environmental variations
- Identify edge cases, race conditions, and intermittent issues through investigative testing.
- Perform performance and stability validation:
- Throughput, latency, packet loss
- Long duration soak and stress testing
- Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and product teams to:
- Share exploratory findings
- Reproduce complex customer reported issues
- Suggest test ideas based on system design
- Execute limited scripted/regression testing, with primary focus on unscripted exploratory testing.
- Log high quality defects with detailed observations, logs, and reproduction steps.
- Analyze logs, packet captures, and system traces for issue triage.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of Wi Fi fundamentals:
- 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax (Wi Fi 4/5/6)
- 2.4GHz / 5GHz / 6GHz basics
- Hands on testing experience with:
- Broadband gateways, routers, mesh/extenders
- Linux based embedded systems
- Familiarity with testing tools:
- iPerf, Wireshark, tcpdump
- Wi Fi analyzer tools (mobile/desktop)
