WNEP TV Wilke, the TEGNAABC in Wilkes Barreseeks a full-time Broadcast Engineer to join the Technology team. This position is responsible for the day-to-day hands-on maintenance of the station's technical equipment including traditional broadcast hardware and industry specific software.

Current driver's license and ability to operate news gathering vehicle to and from various locations required
Responsibilities: • Support day to day operations of station including all daily news operations, equipment, and computer-based IT systems. • Install and maintain broadcast and IT equipment at studio facilities, transmitter site, in remote broadcast vehicles, and at other remote locations. • Troubleshoot equipment issues, making repairs or implementing workarounds as needed. • Perform routine security updates and reboots of broadcast servers. • Contribute to technical documentation that accurately represents installed equipment. • Occasional field work on remote productions. • Minor building-related maintenance tasks occasionally required.
Requirements: 3-5 years' experience in broadcast engineering or related. Strong organizational, communications, and time-management skills. Able to work efficiently without direct supervision. Ability to work well under pressure, take initiative, and work well with others. Solid understanding of current computer hardware, network technologies, and Microsoft's Active Directory environment. Ability to plan technical projects and clearly communicate the status of problems, provide updates to progress on projects, and offer solutions to technical issues. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Available on call. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders and work on elevated surfaces, pull and install wiring, use hand and power tools, work on small components, and perform other physical tasks.
