We are looking for a Brokerage Carrier Sales Manager to lead and develop our growing Carrier Sales team in Grand Rapids and Jackson, Michigan. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coaching, developing, and supporting a team of Carrier Sales Representatives while ensuring exceptional service, operational execution, and carrier capacity for our customers.

What You'll Do:
As the Brokerage Carrier Sales Manager, you will:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5+ Carrier Sales Representatives while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive daily load coverage and carrier sourcing activities to ensure customer commitments are met while protecting profitability.
  • Monitor team performance, provide real-time coaching, conduct regular one-on-one meetings, and support employee growth and development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners while staying informed on freight market trends, pricing, and capacity.
  • Collaborate with Account Management, Contract Transportation, Procurement, and Senior Leadership to align carrier strategies with customer needs.
  • Analyze operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service, and financial results.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, process enhancements, and best practices across the Carrier Sales organization.
 
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in Carrier Sales, Freight Brokerage, or Transportation Operations.
  • 3+ years of freight brokerage or third-party logistics (3PL) experience.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams of 5 or more employees.
  • Strong understanding of spot freight markets, carrier sourcing strategies, and transportation operations.
  • Experience building and maintaining productive carrier relationships.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience within automotive supply chains or just-in-time transportation environments.
  • Experience managing cross-border freight operations or bilingual (U.S./Mexico) teams.
  • Experience implementing new technology or process improvements within transportation operations.
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems, load boards, and freight technology platforms.

Work Location:
 
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Minimal travel between our Grand Rapids and Jackson offices may be required.
