The Opportunity

Tetra Tech is looking for a part-time Administrative Specialist to support our Ohio Brownfield Program. The position is based out of our Cincinnati, Ohio office and would involve providing support on projects across the State of Ohio.

Position Summary

The Administrative Specialist will support our Ohio Brownfield Program with general administrative responsibilities, including operations and communication; contract compliance and record keeping; documentation management; client and stakeholder correspondence; and contract billing and receivables. The role will provide support to the program manager and technical project managers during implementation of various environmental brownfield assessment and remediation projects.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as key liaison with the Tetra Tech Program Manager, state agencies, and client stakeholders.
  • Support planning, organizing, and tracking project invoicing and payment collection activities.
  • Organize, schedule, and facilitate meetings with external stakeholders and internal team members.
  • Support communication and planning between internal teams (technical, management, accounting) and external partners (vendors, clients, state agencies).
  • Attend various client and local government meetings, conferences, and workshops.
  • Support efforts to maintain and grow client relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in environmental science, business administration, communications, office management, or related field.
  • 10 to 15+ years of related experience.
  • Previous experience managing or supporting implementation of state or federal grant funded programs and projects.
  • Knowledge and understanding of State of Ohio funded grant programs, including programs administered by the Ohio Department of Development.
  • Understanding of accounts receivable processes, cash collection procedures, and financial management practices.
  • Experience facilitating and coordinating communication among various project stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely progress.
  • Past experience working for or with local government entities.
  • Must be able to conduct project site and client visits, which could include overnight travel.

This position requires driving on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous private or public sector client management and business development experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to travel and attend various client/stakeholder meetings and conferences.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors

Role responsibilities will require occasional project site and client visits up to approximately 10%, which could include overnight travel.

Additional Information

Due to the nature of the role, the candidate needs to be located in Ohio, but remote work in this role is a possibility.

The Hourly Rate position is $50.00 - $70.00, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
