Budget Accountant

Pride Health is hiring a Budget Accountant to support our client's healthcare facility in Newport News, VA.

Schedule: Monday–Friday | Day Shift
Location: Newport News, VA
Job Type: Local contract 
Contract Length: 3 Months + (possibility of conversion)
Pay Range: $35/hr. - $38/hr. on W2
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.  
 
Duties:

• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and budget-to-actual analysis.
• Perform General Ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, costs, trends, and variances.
• Support audits, regulatory reporting, internal controls, and process improvements.
• Partner with operational teams to explain financial results and support decisions.
• Use advanced Excel and ERP systems to analyze and report financial data.
• 1+ years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Strong GL, reconciliation, close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, IF/IFERROR, etc.
• ERP experience preferred, such as Oracle, SAP, Workday, PeopleSoft, Lawson, Dynamics, or Great Plains.

Requirements: 

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting OR Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field with an Accounting concentration or approximately 21+ completed accounting credit hours.
• Years of experience: 1+ years
