Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares and analyzes financial reports to support budget management, executive decision-making, and operational planning.

  • Assists with developing, administering, and monitoring the agency budget by analyzing financial data and funding needs.

  • Monitors budget activity to ensure compliance with fiscal policies and identifies financial trends and variances.

  • Administers the agency capital projects system and maintains accurate project accounting and reporting.

  • Processes budget transactions and fiscal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures.

  • Provides guidance and technical assistance on budget processes, financial reporting, and SCEIS to agency staff.

  • Conducts financial analysis and research to support funding recommendations, strategic planning, and executive decision-making.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field and professional experience in a related area, such as accounting, auditing, finance, or banking.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business,

OR

  • A related field and one (1) year of professional experience in a related area,

OR

  • An associates degree in accounting, finance, business,

OR

  • A related field and three (3) years of professional experience in a related area,

OR

  • A high school diploma with five (5) years of professional experience in a related area.

Preferred Qualifications

SCDC budget experience preferred.
