    Description

    Five Star Mechanical is a locally owned mechanical contractor serving Wichita and the surrounding region since 2005. We provide HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, and building automation solutions for commercial and industrial customers, with a strong focus on quality work, long-term relationships, and taking care of our people and clients.We are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our Building Automation team. In this role, you will design, develop, and support building automation systems for commercial and industrial facilities while working closely with project managers, technicians, customers, engineers, and contractors to deliver successful projects from design through commissioning.What You'll DoDesign building automation (BAS/DDC) control systems for commercial and industrial HVAC applications.Review construction drawings and develop control strategies, sequences of operation, I/O summaries, and project documentation.Prepare submittals, shop drawings, schedules, and as-built documentation.Support estimating, hardware selection, and system integration.Coordinate with project teams to resolve design and installation challenges.Assist with programming, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system optimization.Support HVAC equipment integration using BACnet, Modbus, and other industry protocols.What We're Looking ForExperience with HVAC controls, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and Direct Digital Controls (DDC).Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.Knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, pumps, air handlers, and VAV systems.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documentation.Experience with Visio, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar software is preferred.Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Valid driver's license and ability to work safely on construction job sites.Why Join Five Star Mechanical?At Five Star Mechanical, our purpose is to Empower Good People and Grow Great Leaders.
