PGS Worldwide is seeking a Build Infrastructure Software Engineer in Fort Worth, TX for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Build Infrastructure Software Engineer will support system build infrastructure, automation, configuration frameworks, software integration, and CI/CD build pipelines. This role supports software development teams by helping integrate, troubleshoot, debug, and deliver software across multiple programs. The position requires strong Python experience, Linux/Unix command line skills, and experience with software configuration management tools.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of relevant software engineering experience may be considered in place of a degree.
5+ years of Python programming experience.
3+ years of experience with the Linux/Unix command line.
5+ years of experience with software configuration management tools such as Git, Artifactory, or Nexus.
Experience supporting software integration, debugging, and software deliveries.
Ability to troubleshoot and support CI/CD build pipelines.
Ability to develop build automation infrastructure and automated tools.
Ability to participate in daily scrums, sprint reviews, and technical demos.
Ability to evaluate impediments and support teams when issues arise.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD, including running pipelines, creating basic jobs, and resolving common failures.
Experience building and running Docker containers.
Basic awareness of Kubernetes concepts and limited hands-on deployment experience.
Understanding of core object-oriented programming principles.
Ability to write class-based code under guidance.
Ability to develop small to medium-sized modules using reusable code patterns.
Knowledge of the code compilation process and its stages.
Ability to debug and improve scripts with assistance.
Ability to assist with converting legacy scripts, such as Perl, into readable Python code.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills.
What You’ll Do
Support system build infrastructure for multiple programs.

Develop build automation infrastructure and automated tools.
Integrate, support, and debug software deliveries.
Support software development teams during build, integration, and delivery issues.
Participate in agile ceremonies including daily scrums, sprint reviews, and technical demos.
Pay
$25.00 - $85.00 per hour
