Position Description
Starting Salary Range:
$85,597 - $98,745
; depending on experience
Location: Lynnwood, WA
Classification: Exempt

Position Overview:
Design and configure controls systems. Provide basic level software from pre-engineered and more complex software designs. Prepare control drawings, valve and damper schedules and submittal packages. Prepare system start-up packages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and configure control systems using CAD per project specifications.
- Select and install control products, components, applications, and systems.
- Create reusable, field-tested standards and coordinate with estimators and management to maintain the standards library.
- Assist with RFIs (request for information) in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Prepare and review submittals.
- Collaborate with Engineers and Controls Specialists to define software needs and testing/commissioning plans.
- Provide technical coordination and support across projects.
- Lead engineering efforts on large or complex building control projects.
- Support system start-up and commissioning.
- Review specifications and prepare points lists, control diagrams, and sequences of operation.
- Prepare shop drawings and installation drawings.
- Develop bills of materials.
- Collaborate with the Controls Operations Manager (COM), Project Manager, Engineers, and support staff.
- Coordinate special requirements with the Project Manager during submittals (e.g., TCP sizes, layouts, special mounting, home runs, installation needs).
- Review and assess technical plans and scopes.
- Interpret system requirements including software, interface, and applicability.
- Adhere to company technical standards and recommend updates as needed.
- Provide input on product selection, application development, and documentation standards.
- Respond to technical information requests.
- Prepare documentation including manuals, test/commissioning plans, and customer training materials.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Provide schedule and time estimates to Project Manager for forecasting.
- Maintain a workload tracking database.
Position Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Good working knowledge of systems commonly monitored and controlled by a building DDC/EMS, including Tridium/Niagara Ax/N4, Distech, Lonworks Controllers, and BACNet Controllers.
- Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- May serve as engineering lead on certain projects.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
- Minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
- Current, up-to-date knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems technology, control DDC instrumentation technology, and industry standards
Required Licensing and Other Certifications:
- Maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Successful completion of a background check.
