BAS / Controls Project Manager

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced and motivated BAS / Controls Project Manager to lead Building Automation and DDC controls projects from initial planning through commissioning and final closeout. This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong communication with clients, field teams, and vendors.Columbia, South Carolina$85,000 – $115,000 annually 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage BAS/DDC controls projects from kickoff through completion
• Coordinate technicians, programmers, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning teams
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, job costs, materials, and change orders
• Oversee submittals, control sequences, installation planning, startup, commissioning, and project closeout
• Maintain clear communication with customers, project stakeholders, and field personnel
• Support problem-solving efforts to keep projects moving efficiently and successfully
• Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and performance expectations

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing BAS, HVAC controls, or DDC systems projects
• Strong knowledge of HVAC controls systems, automation networks, and DDC applications
• Experience with platforms such as Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls (JCI), Honeywell, or Schneider Electric
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, control drawings, and sequences of operation
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
• Experience with ERP or construction/project management software is a plus
