Building Automations Controls Design Engineer – Entry to Mid-Level

About the Role
We’re looking for a BAS Controls Design Engineer to support building automation projects from start to finish. In this role, you’ll design control systems, select materials, develop sequences of operation, and prepare project documentation. You’ll work closely with project managers and senior engineers, gaining hands-on experience with both smaller and more complex system applications. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills in engineering design while contributing to impactful projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and document control systems, including drawings, submittals, and sequences of operation.

  • Research and select control system components and peripherals.

  • Read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications.

  • Update designs to reflect field changes and produce as-built documentation.

  • Generate operation and maintenance manuals at project closeout.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to deliver high-quality results.

  • Assist with software design tasks to expand skills in advanced systems.

  • Manage time effectively across multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Follow safety practices and complete required OSHA training.

  • Participate in training and development programs to continue growing professionally.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred) or related technical training.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read construction blueprints and electrical schematics.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, Visio, and basic networking.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
