GENERAL
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The
Building
Clerical
provides
instructional
support
work
in
providing
assistance
to
teachers
in
the
daily
management
and
instruction
of
students.
The
employee
is
responsible
for
performing
clerical
and
instructional
tasks
to
relieve
teachers
of
routine
activities
and
to
help
carry
out
daily
classroom
activities.
The
Building
Clerical
also
provides
supervision
for
students
throughout
the
day.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:
Maintain
confidentiality
in
the
performance
of
all
assigned
duties
Assist
teachers
in
providing
a
well-organized,
smooth
functioning
environment
in
which
all
students
can
take
full
advantage
of
the
instructional
program
Supervise
students
in
a
variety
of
settings
throughout
the
day
(entry/dismissal,
before/after
school,
passing
periods,
hallway,
locker
room,
classroom,
etc.)
Build
relationships
with
students
to
assist
in
creating
a
positive
school
culture
Escort
specific
students
to
areas
such
as
office
and
classes
as
needed
Chaperone
on
field
trips
Cover
for
Building
Secretary
as
needed,
answer
phones,
perform
clerical
duties,
and
support
the
functioning
of
the
school
office
Assist
teachers
with
clerical
duties
as
needed
Assist
in
test
scheduling
and
proctoring
Participate
in
workshops,
inservice
training,
meetings,
etc.
for
the
purpose
of
conveying
and/or
gathering
information
required
to
perform
job
functions
Respond
to
needs
of
students,
staff
and
administration
Substitute
in
classrooms
as
needed
Serve
as
a
role
model
for
students
and
staff
in
demonstrating
positive
attitudes,
accepting
responsibility,
and
an
effective
work
ethic
Protect
confidentiality
of
records
and
information
about
students
and
staff,
and
use
discretion
when
sharing
any
such
information
within
legal
confines
Perform
other
duties
as
assigned
by
Building
Administrator
or
designee
Have
the
ability
to
work
from
home,
in
the
event
work
from
home
is
provided
by
the
district,
including
the
ability
to
access
WIFI
Check
and
respond
to
District
at
a
minimum
of
once
daily

Must
possess
a
minimum
of
a
Substitute
Teaching
License
through
the
Illinois
State
Board
of
Education
(ISBE)
Paraprofessional
approval
from
the
Illinois
State
Board
of
Education
Prior
school
experience
a
plus
Physical

and

Environment:
While
performing
the
duties
of
the
job,
the
employee
is
frequently
required
to
sit;
use
hands
to
finger,
handle,
or
feel;
and
talk
or
hear.
The
employee
