The LA County Board of Supervisors has unanimously ratified a Proclamation of Local Emergency in response to the windstorms and wildfires, including the Palisades and Eaton Fires, that have devastated communities across the County. We are looking for qualified and passionate individuals to assist the County in mobilizing resources and support needed to help our residents recover and rebuild. The Los Angeles County Fire Department is seeking qualified candidates to fill emergency Building Complex Manager II vacancies related to this unprecedented natural disaster.
Under the emergency order, applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days, with an opportunity for permanent County employment.
During your initial work period, you will be assessed on your work performance. This assessment will be weighted 100%.
Those who successfully pass the assessment will be considered for permanent appointment to Building Complex Manager II.

REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY:
Option I: One (1) year of experience at the level of General Maintenance Supervisor.*
Option II: Two (2) years of experience at the level of Senior Custodian Supervisor.
Option III: Three (3) years of journey-level* experience in a building crafts/skilled or trades position in the service of Los Angeles County.
Option IV: Five (5) years of experience in general building maintenance and repair, performing a variety of minor carpentry, electrical, masonry, painting, and plumbing work, three (3) years of which must have been specialized or supervisory capacity.
You MUST meet the above requirement(s) in order to be appointed to fill any vacancies related to this recruitment.
LICENSE:
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION:
In Los Angeles County service, experience at the level of Senior Custodian Supervisor refers to supervising a large crew of custodians and other works maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of County offices, hospitals, health and correctional facilities, institutions, and buildings.
OUT-OF-CLASS EXPERIENCE:
Out-of-Class experience or a Verification of Experience Letter (VOEL) will not be accepted for this examination.
PHYSICAL CLASS:
Physical Class II - Light:
This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
