Competitive shift differentials.What You'll Do: As a Building Engineer - Critical Environments, you'll support the 24/7 operation of mission-critical data center infrastructure. You'll work alongside experienced engineers while developing expertise that keeps the digital world running.Core Responsibilities:Monitor and assist with maintenance of all building systems including fire/life safety, HVAC, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, plumbing, and building controls to ensure continuous operation.Support operation and maintenance of electrical systems including UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, emergency generators, primary switchgear, power distribution equipment, and transformers.Monitor refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; assist with adjustments to boilers, ventilating systems, and water heaters; maintain pumps, valves, piping, and filters.Record equipment readings, observe system performance, assist with diagnosing problems, and support corrective action to prevent downtime.Manage work orders through CMMS, coordinate with vendors, and respond to customer-facing tickets efficiently.Follow emergency escalation procedures and assist with incident management for critical systems.Maintain safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with departmental policy.Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times.What You BringRequired Qualifications1+ years of experience operating, maintaining, or troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, or facility systems in environments requiring reliability and uptime (industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, power generation, military facilities, hospitals, large commercial buildings, oil & gas operations, or similar)Hands-on technical aptitude with building systems such as electrical distribution, backup power systems, HVAC equipment, pumps, motors, controls, or related mechanical/electrical infrastructureProblem-solving mindset - you can observe equipment behavior, identify when something isn't operating correctly, and take appropriate action or elevate effectivelyStrong communication skills for documentation, shift handoffs, and team coordinationBasic computer skills including email, documentation systems, and willingness to learn maintenance management softwareSafety-conscious approach toward working around energized equipment and industrial machineryPreferred QualificationsCorrigo CMMS experienceUniversal EPA 608 certification (or willingness to obtain)NFPA 70E electrical safety trainingTrade school, technical training, or apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC disciplinesMilitary veterans with facility operations, power generation, or mechanical systems experience strongly encouraged to applyExperience in oil & gas, power plants, manufacturing, or other mission-critical industrial operationsPhysical RequirementsThis hands‑on role requires physical capability and comfort working in industrial environmentsWalk large campus-style facilities throughout your shiftLift up to 50 lbs regularlyClimb stairs and access rooftop equipment in all weather conditionsUse ladders up to 30 ft and work at heights safely (300 lb weight limit)Work various schedules including holidays as neededRespond to site emergencies outside regular hours when requiredWho We Are: JLL is a Fortune 500 company and a global leader in real estate services.
