Position: Building Information Modeling Specialist

Location: Atrium Enterprise; Charlotte, NC.

Full Time; 1st Shift

~Remote

Essential Functions This position serves a variety of duties that include but is not limited to:

Assisting with the software selection, software management, software testing and reviews for BIM application platforms for Advocate Health, which includes several software programs including 3D modeling programs, 4D scheduling programs, and 5D cost estimating as well as Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM360)
Managing over 20 million square feet of existing facility models using Autodesk AEC Collection software.
Modifying existing 3Dmodels.
Creating Architectural / MEP Revit models and Navisworks coordination models as required.
Maintaining Archibus space management information within the 3Dmodels.
Coordinates document distribution to customer, job site and vendors.
Coordinates with staff and customers orally and inwriting.
Assists in the maintenance and connectivity between the models and BIM SharePoint site.
Coordinates project close out with Project and Construction Management and reviewing embedded model data for content and accuracy.
Manages Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360) cloud based collaborative project sites.

Physical Requirements

Climb stairs.
Sit for long periods of time.
Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects.
Remote Work Environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Expert skill level in Building Information Modeling software for review, coordination, and updating of facility models.
Understanding of construction documents, as-built drawings and other project related documents.
Problem solving skills.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Associate degree in engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
Minimum 3-years' experience in construction/engineering industry or equivalent.
Demonstrates extensive knowledge and understanding of plans and specifications.
Demonstrates extensive knowledge and experience in required software. (Revit - Autodesk AEC Collection)
Demonstrates effective written and verbal English language communication skills.
Ability to use independent judgement, problem solving ability, self-starting, and ability to prioritize based on relevant factors.
Revit Certified Associate or Revit Certified Professional preferred, although not required.

The Building Information Modeling (BIM) Specialist position interfaces with Architects, Engineers, Contractors, and multiple Advocate Health Departments, including regional facilities directors for all construction projects. The BIM Specialist manages 3 dimensional models for construction, digital construction coordination and project documentation. The BIM Specialist also supports Architects/Engineers, Project Managers, and multiple Advocate Health Departments in all disciplines through a variety of tasks including project model reviews at all major milestones of construction, as-built model transfer and extracting embedded model information such as Archibus, area calculations, and helps with barrier management code reviews.
