Main Purpose of Job
This position functions as the facilities Building Manager for an assigned building within the region. The Building Manager will assist the Regional Manager in implementing of budgetary items to be purchased, oversee building maintenance contracts, preparing various reports/documents, monitoring the building maintenance operations, assisting in the interviewing and hiring procedures, supervising lower-level maintenance and administrative employees, evaluating employeeâs performance and establishing new operating methods for maintenance.Â
This is an Emergency Essential position subject to emergency release procedures. Employees in this position must be willing and available for duty at all hours, day or night, and are required to remain or report for duty at all hours as needed to maintain the continuous operation of this agency.Â
If you are the selected candidate for this position, you will be required to complete a Pre-Employment Physical, which will assess your ability to safely perform the essential functions of this position.
POSITION DUTIES
Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:Â Eighth grade.
Experience: Six years experience in building maintenance or building construction trades including five years of responsibility assigning, reviewing and approving the work of others and disciplining, evaluating the performance of, and recommending the hiring, firing and promoting of others.

Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance specialty codes in the utility systems repair field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator''s license valid in the State of Maryland.

A motor vehicle operatorâs license valid in the State of Maryland is required for this position.
