We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. This role supports the upkeep of our property by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting repairs, and ensuring all equipment and systems run smoothly. This role ensures that all systems operate safely and efficiently, while maintaining the pristine standards of our world-class retreat.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on buildings, systems, and equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, plastering and general facility issues
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and guests
- Maintain tools, equipment, work areas, ensuring an organized, and safe work environment
- Assist with landscaping, grounds upkeep, and property appearance as needed
- Support special projects, renovations, and installations, working collaboratively with outside contractors when lager scale projects and repairs are required.
- Adhere to safety standards, policies, and State of New York building codes
- Assist with maintaining a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and staff.
- Follow all safety standards and protocols required by Fed/State and ensure compliance with property standards
- Support Housekeeping and Operations teams with special projects as needed
Experience
Candidates should possess familiarity with the following skills:
- Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, or building operations (hospitality or resort experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Must be reliable, punctual, and professional
- Proficient problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Must be CPO certified pool operator
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely
- Exposure to dust, cleaning chemicals, noise, and mechanical vibrations.
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, squat, crawl, kneel, and work in varying outdoor conditions
- Sufficient hearing and vision (with our without correction) to identify hazards and operate equipment safely
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations, including moving rapidly between areas of the property
- Standing and walking in varying outdoor terrains for extended periods of time
Weekends, Holidays, Nights, and varying schedule availability required.
