As a Full Time Building Maintenance Specialist at Bonneville County, you will engage in a variety of entry-level semi-skilled tasks essential to our daily facilities maintenance, construction, and renovation efforts. You will ensure compliance with approved plans and building codes while performing general maintenance on numerous building components and systems.
Your role will involve preventive maintenance on facility systems, including air conditioning, boilers, and electrical controls, and assisting in the development of a preventive maintenance program. You will also monitor the status of buildings concerning safety standards, perform rough and finish carpentry, and maintain the physical integrity of county buildings.
Additionally, as needed, you may take on custodial duties such as vacuuming, floor stripping and refinishing, and carpet cleaning, ensuring our environments remain safe and welcoming for the community.
To thrive as a Full Time Building Maintenance Specialist at Bonneville County, candidates should possess a foundational knowledge of specialty craft methods, including carpentry, masonry, locksmithing, and painting. Familiarity with general architectural engineering principles, legal standards like OSHA and ADA, and current building codes is essential.
Successful candidates will demonstrate skill in utilizing both power and hand tools effectively for minor repairs, alongside the ability to adhere to safety precautions common in municipal maintenance. Proficiency in maintaining safety and risk management standards will be crucial, as will the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, read blueprints, and maintain accurate operating records. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interactions with colleagues, agencies, and the public.
A valid Idaho Driver's License is required, along with availability for 24-hour emergency callouts, and the capacity to pass drug/alcohol testing and a thorough pre-employment background check, including a polygraph examination.
