Building Maintenance Supervisor

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Building Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations of a cold storage facility during the first shift. This role is vital in ensuring the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems within the facility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, technical expertise in industrial maintenance, and a proactive approach to managing facilities maintenance teams. Your expertise will help maintain optimal conditions for storage operations while adhering to safety regulations and industry standards.

Duties

• Lead and manage facilities maintenance teams responsible for HVAC system repair, electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical systems within the cold storage environment.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance procedures using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to optimize equipment uptime and reliability.
• Troubleshoot engineering issues related to mechanical, electrical, low voltage, high voltage, and HVAC systems using schematics, Ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations by conducting safety audits, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining a safe work environment for all team members.
• Oversee facilities management activities including managing projects related to system upgrades or repairs, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections; prepare reports on equipment performance and facility conditions.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs such as HVAC system repair or industrial maintenance tasks requiring technical expertise.

Skills

• Proven management experience with supervising facilities maintenance teams in manufacturing or cold storage environments.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in HVAC systems repair, electrical systems (including high and low voltage), plumbing system maintenance, and industrial maintenance procedures.
• Proficiency with CMMS software for scheduling and tracking maintenance activities; familiarity with schematics and engineering troubleshooting techniques.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices for maintaining a safe work environment.
• Excellent project management skills to oversee multiple repair projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to read technical schematics and use diagnostic tools such as Ohmmeters effectively.
• Strong leadership qualities with team management experience; capable of motivating staff and managing facilities effectively using Microsoft Office tools for documentation and reporting.
