POSITION SUMMARY

The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day maintenance operations requirements of all RUPCO owned or managed properties. The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Director of Facilities. This is a full-time hourly position (4-day work week; 32 hours). Duties may include, but are not limited to:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use of the work order system to accomplish maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Accomplish unit turnovers.
  • Accompany Property management, third party or vendor's on unit inspections as required.
  • Contribute to the development, revision and implementation of the preventive maintenance plan.
  • Maintain RUPCO's quality maintenance standards.
  • Maintain rental units to include preventative maintenance tasks, work order repairs and emergency repairs or services.
  • Complete all required reporting in a clear and timely fashion. Maintain maintenance files, for various tasks and levels of compliance, as required.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations and any other mandated guidelines and/or policies relevant to property management and operations including safety and quality assurance for your assigned properties.
  • Provide on call' after-hours weekday, weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Maintain a work environment in a clean, organized, and safe manner. Conduct daily inspections of work areas to look for unsafe conditions
  • Ensure all accidents are reported to supervisor and Human Resources timely and in an appropriate manner.
  • Maintain practices to ensure Health and Safety compliance.
  • Use all required safety devices and personal protective equipment.

  • Maintain a clean and neat appearance consistent with agency standards
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Participate in training programs for professional growth as scheduled and approved
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to RUPCO Inc.'s applicable program rules, regulations and policies. Keep abreast of any changes or modifications to policies or regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Salary: $24.07 Hourly

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:

  • 6 months of experience is required.

Skills:

  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks
  • Must have a high level of energy and able to multi-task when necessary
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must be able to climb stairs and a ladder
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work as part of a team
  • Must be organized and able to work independently without constant supervision
  • Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have basic knowledge of cleaning products
  • Must have basic knowledge of cleaning equipment
