Our new client operates two large-scale advanced manufacturing facilities in Central Texas. These sites support 24/7 production of highly specialized technology components used across multiple industries. The campuses include clean-room environments, engineering labs, and high-volume production lines that require a diverse, skilled workforce.

 

Job Summary

We are seeking Building Maintenance Technician to join our team. You  will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing critical facility systems in an administrative building and  semiconductor fab/cleanroom environment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical infrastructure. These roles provide 1st shift coverage to ensure rapid response to facility issues, coordinate with engineering, operations, and contractors to plan and execute maintenance work and equipment installations to minimize operational downtime. The technician also supports and executes specialized rigging and equipment moves, ensuring safe handling of sensitive tools while maintaining compliance with safety and cleanroom standards.

 

Job Description

  • Perform and plan preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical infrastructure to ensure reliable operation in a cleanroom environment and or administrative building.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility and equipment issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and support continuous production.
  • Serve as the primary or backup resource for assigned activities, reducing single-point dependency and ensuring safe execution.
  • Conduct routine inspections of building systems and cleanroom infrastructure to identify risks, defects, or maintenance needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, including LOTO, PPE, OSHA standards, and site-specific cleanroom protocols.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, and contractors to plan and execute maintenance work and equipment installations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, work orders, inspections, and equipment history.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and improve response times.
  • Assist in vendor management and oversee contractor work to ensure quality and safety compliance.
  • Respond to and contain facility-related incidents (e.g., utility interruptions, leaks, system failures) to minimize operational impact.

 

Skills Required

  • 3–5+ years of experience in semiconductor FAB, facilities, or high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience with critical facility systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and control system issues independently
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and emergency response procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-impact issues under time-sensitive conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting semiconductor FAB infrastructure or similar cleanroom environments
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Strong communication skills for cross-team coordination and incident escalation
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in high-pressure situations

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)

 

Additional Requirements

  • Shift: 1st shift 8A-5P - Monday to Friday
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

 

Pay rate

  • $20-26 per hour, based on experience, skills, and market factors
