Primary Purpose of Position

This position serves as a Building Maintenance Technician - with responsibility for the general maintenance of Business Services facilities and equipment including: ceiling tile, light bulb, and filter replacements; furniture inspection/repair; and painting. Additionally, this position is responsible for moving dining equipment, as necessary, and maintaining/tracking asset information in Archibus.

Minimum Education/Experience

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position's role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Essential Job Duties

Provide a wide range or maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks for Building Services areas of operation and buildings. These tasks include basic plumbing, painting, electrical and general trades .These tasks require the application of skills in planning, problem-solving, attention to detail, teamwork, communication and knowledge of and adherence to safety policies/regulations. The job also requires some computer and software skills for asset tracking and management, record keeping and planning. Position may serve as lead technician and/or crew leader, directing the work of outside vendors/contractors.

Other Work Responsibilities

This position will assist in the coordination and movement of Business Services equipment throughout the campus. This includes moving furniture and large kitchen equipment. Vehicles with a lift gate are provided. In rare occasions this position may be called in to assist with a building emergency.

  • Technical knowledge and experience with skills of basic plumbing, painting, electrical and general trades
