Job Description:

Must be able to maintain an onsite presence and travel within the assigned territory coverage area across PA and NJ, including but not limited to the locations listed below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Perform maintenance work in the stores, work with store management to implement new preventative maintenance programs.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and safe operation of company owned equipment used in conducting the day-to-day business of the department: i.e., tools, systems, vehicles, etc.
  • Receive work orders, prioritize work, and follow up on completed work.
  • Assure that emergency repairs are handled immediately to avoid property damage and personal injury to Weis Markets Inc. associates and customers.
  • Work with local contractors for all major repair projects & maintenance programs.
  • Assist with the coordination of procedures for rapid response and resolution of emergency building/systems failures to ensure the continued operation of the store with a minimum of disruption, loss of sales and spoilage of product.
  • Recommend appropriate capital improvement projects that need to be initiated to maintain efficient and effective building operations. (Via facilities checklist)
  • Assist in implementing minor capital projects.
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs & procedures.
  • Conduct store visits to ensure all maintenance projects, programs, & procedures are being followed.
  • Educate store managers on the importance of planned maintenance to increase store profitability by reducing expenses.
  • Participate in on-site surveys of new and remodel projects.
  • Responsible for his/her assigned projects completion according to the company's standards for criteria, time, cost, and quality.
  • Conducts regular field inspections on assigned projects, ensure work is performed in compliance with company standards and objectives, takes corrective action to ensure objectives are achieved.
  • Provides maintenance expertise to operations and other departments in response to questions in the area of maintenance and repairs.
  • Provides quick response and support where needed in emergency, disaster recovery, and /or compliance situations.
  • Provides ongoing evaluation of best practices & standards as well as new ideas, input and recommendations for criteria and process improvements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

High school diploma or GED plus five (5) years" experience in maintenance of building systems and first-hand knowledge of the construction trades. In addition, requires computer skills, Microsoft Outlook, and Service Now Call Tracking system with basic operations of iPhone and iPad knowledge.
