We are seeking a reliable and skilled Building Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day maintenance and operations of four commercial buildings. This role is responsible for ensuring all properties are functional and well-maintained, with a strong focus on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repairs. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with facilities maintenance, minor electrical, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and general repairs, and takes pride in keeping buildings safe, efficient, and well maintained in a fast-paced environment.

How you will make an impact:
Conduct scheduled inspections and identify routine maintenance needs for buildings, equipment, and fixtures; monitor elevator operation and coordinate service as needed; perform weekly testing of emergency generator systems.Perform skilled mechanical maintenance involving installation, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC, heating, air conditioning, lighting, plumbing, communications, and related building systems; read and interpret blueprints and facility system diagrams.Complete general building maintenance tasks including changing lights and ballasts, installing fixtures, assisting with fire system maintenance, painting, repairing floors and washroom fixtures, moving furniture and office equipment, and maintaining circuit breakers; support seasonal snow and ice removal as assigned.Support physical security operations, including badging, security monitoring, and inspection of incoming materials and mail.Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and building systems activity; provide facility information and support to external contractors and service providers as needed.Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and regulationsRespond to and prioritize maintenance requests in a timely mannerSupport maintenance operations across a portfolio of four buildingsInteract with staff and vendors
What you need to be successful in this role:
High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious experience in building or facilities maintenance, including minor electrical, HVAC, and general repair workStrong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skillsAbility to lift and move furniture, equipment, and supplies weighing approximately 20-50 lbsAbility to participate in the on-call rotation, which will require working outside of standard business hoursHVAC license or related certifications preferredExperience with heat pumps preferred
