Smith Personnel Solutions is seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Technician with a strong background in preventive and corrective maintenance within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and facility equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and equipment maintenance.
Diagnose equipment issues and make timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
Maintain and repair automated production equipment, conveyors, saws, motors, gearboxes, bearings, and other machinery.
Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, chain drives, conveyor systems, and production machinery.
Read and understand equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, schematics, and troubleshooting documentation.
Assist with equipment installation, adjustments, and repairs.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required inspection/check sheets.
Support production teams by responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and maintenance needs.
Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA safety requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area.
Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
Experience working with:
Automated roller conveyor systems
Component saws and precision cutting equipment
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Chain drives and bearings
Motors and gearboxes
Conveyors and production machinery
Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems.
Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and troubleshooting documentation.
Experience with automated manufacturing equipment is highly preferred.
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while supporting production needs.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and OSHA compliance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work around industrial equipment for extended periods.
Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
Ability to lift and move materials/equipment as required.
Ability to work safely around moving machinery and production equipment.
