Imagine starting your shift with a quick walk-through: entrances clear and welcoming, floors gleaming, restrooms fresh, and meeting rooms ready for action. When a work order pings for a minor repair or a carpet shampoo, you’re on it. Snow falls? You’re already spreading anti-skid materials. A delivery arrives? You receive and unload it with care. You take pride in details—and it shows.

Your Mission

Support building operations by providing expert cleaning, event setup, and basic maintenance that protects health, enhances appearance, and keeps the organization running smoothly.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Perform comprehensive floor care: sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing interior and exterior surfaces; operate heavy-duty machines to scrub, strip, wax, and polish hard floors.
  • Keep carpets guest-ready: vacuum offices, classrooms, corridors, and public spaces; shampoo carpets using extraction equipment.
  • Detail the environment: dust and clean furniture, exhibit cases, picture frames, trim, and whiteboards with the right supplies.
  • Prioritize hygiene: clean, disinfect, and service lavatories, restrooms, showers, and locker rooms.
  • Brighten views: wash window sills; clean interior/exterior windows, corridor and entrance doors, and vestibules.
  • Reach high and low: clean walls, blinds, curtains, ceiling lights, and HVAC fixtures; safely use ladders.
  • Power events: move, assemble, and arrange furniture; execute efficient event setups and teardowns.
  • Own the curb appeal: maintain exterior entrances and surrounding areas.
  • Manage waste streams: collect trash, change liners, and transport refuse to designated areas.
  • Care for your tools: maintain and adjust vacuums, scrubbers, and carpet machines.
  • Be the eyes of the facility: submit repair needs through the approved work order system.
  • Tackle minor plumbing issues: attempt to clear clogs in toilets, sinks, bathtubs, and showers; apply drain conditioners and odor control solutions on schedule.
  • Stay weather-ready: remove snow and apply anti-skid materials to steps and walkways.
  • Support logistics: receive and unload deliveries.
  • Champion safety: follow all safety procedures; immediately report hazards or incidents; adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Pitch in where needed with other related duties.

What It Takes

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: two years of experience in an applied trade.
  • Ability to read, hear, and follow instructions via written and verbal work orders.
  • Self-starter who collaborates well with teammates.
  • Comfort working outdoors and indoors in all kinds of weather and occasionally unpleasant conditions.
  • Prepared to safely handle spills, including body fluids and chemical substances.
  • Physically able to bend, stoop, climb ladders, and stay on your feet for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds.

Special Requirement

  • Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
