Building Substitute - July 2026 Position: Building Substitute Reports to: Building principal or other assigned administrator Position Summary: Building substitutes provide instructional coverage across all grade levels when regular classroom teachers are absent. The ideal candidate will maintain continuity of instruction, follow lesson plans, manage classroom environments effectively, and ensure student safety and learning throughout the school day. The Building Substitute Teacher may also be asked to cover for paraeducators or tutors as needed. Key Responsibilities: Implement lesson plans and instructional materials. Maintain classroom management and create a positive learning environment. Supervise students in classroom, hallway, cafeteria, and other school settings. Take attendance and maintain accurate records. Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs across various grade levels and subjects. Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Communicate any classroom issues or student concerns to appropriate school personnel. Perform other duties as assigned by building or district administrators. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Strong classroom management skills. Flexibility to work with students across all grade levels and subject levels. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions: Assignments vary based on daily needs. Physical requirements include standing, walking, and occasional lifting. Work is performed in various classroom settings throughout the building.
