Building Systems HVAC Service Specialist

Picture this: a facility manager calls with comfort and process concerns. You arrive, assess the system, and—using your electrical, mechanical, and controls knowledge—map out solutions that get occupants comfortable and equipment running right. That’s the impact you’ll make every day.

Your mission

• Own the operation, service, replacement, and preventive maintenance of commercial HVAC systems.
• Diagnose and install with confidence—leveraging testing equipment, hand tools, and a strong grasp of electrical systems.
• Bring deep experience across boilers, chillers, and cooling towers.
• Stay aligned with the Scheduler to deliver work efficiently and on schedule.
• Turn each service call into a relationship: evaluate thoroughly, explain options candidly, and honor the customer’s decision.
• Model safe work practices, follow company procedures, show up on time, and respect every environment you enter.
• Keep growing—commit to continuous learning and skill development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years’ experience maintaining equipment.
• Universal EPA certification and a valid driver’s license with a solid driving record.
• KY Journeymen’s License required.
• Effective communicator with coworkers and supervisors regarding status, results, and upcoming tasks.
• Accurate with documentation and job forms.
• Able to interpret drawings and follow written/verbal directions with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable using PCs, tablets, and smartphones.
• Judgment to make minor setup and sequencing decisions.
• Willing to travel regionally to MI, IL, OH, KY, IN, and WV.
• Experience with piping, chillers, med gas, and controls.
• Physically able to stand/sit/squat for long periods; navigate job sites; lift up to 50 lbs unassisted; push/pull/reach/stoop; and work from ladders and lifts.
• Works well in traditional job site settings with seasonal noise and temperature changes.
