The State of Connecticut, Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) is currently recruiting for one (1) part-time Buildings And Grounds Patrol Officer position at Norwich Technical High School in Norwich.
Join CTECS as a Buildings and Grounds Patrol Officer and play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors across our campus. In this position, you will help protect school property by monitoring buildings and grounds, enforcing parking and traffic regulations, conducting vehicle and foot patrols, and responding to security concerns. Youll also serve as a valuable resource by assisting visitors, providing security escorts, administering first aid when needed, and supporting daily operations through dispatching and recordkeeping. PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Incumbents in this class may be required to possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operators license.
Incumbents in this class may be required to obtain and maintain a Standard First Aid Certificate and/or CPR certification.
CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS
In addition to the checking of references and of facts stated in the application, a thorough background investigation of each candidate may be made before persons are certified for appointment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Incumbents in this class must have general good health, be free from any disease or injury which would impair health or usefulness and possess and retain sufficient physical strength, stamina, agility, endurance and visual and auditory acuity required to perform all the duties of the class.
Applicants may be required to pass a physical examination.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Incumbents in this class may be exposed to the attendant discomforts of working outdoors, to the effort of prolonged periods of walking and standing while on foot patrol and/or guard duty, and to some danger of injury in performing the duties of the class.
