Day on the Terminal: Keep Equipment Moving, Keep Vessels Loading
Picture starting your shift by reviewing the Safe Work Instruction Program, then heading out to the yard where railcars arrive and vessels wait. You’ll support plant uptime by inspecting and maintaining the mechanical systems that keep coal moving from rail to ship. When operations call, you’ll also operate mobile equipment to keep transshipment running smoothly.
What You’ll Tackle
Provide safe, hands-on mechanical support that maximizes terminal availability and equipment reliability.
Operate mobile equipment as needed during coal transshipment from rail to vessel, including forklift, manual shift truck, JLG man-lift, and crane truck.
Work confidently in confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme weather conditions.
Follow the Safe Work Instruction Program to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and the team.
Use prints, schematics, manuals, and drawings to troubleshoot industrial equipment and automation components.
Perform oxy/acetylene cutting and weld at a variety of angles and steel thicknesses.
Lay out, fabricate, and complete minor repairs to parts and equipment.
Operate independently when required and collaborate across the terminal when the job calls for it.
Cross-train in operational roles such as loaders, dozers, locomotives, and cranes.

What You Bring
At least 3 years of experience that includes machine maintenance in an industrial setting.
Preferred millwright background with experience in bearing replacements and motor alignments.
Proficiency with rigging and working around cranes and hoists.
Comfort using a wide range of hand tools and shop tools.
Pre-task safety mindset: conduct safety reviews of assigned work and surrounding areas before maintenance begins.
Solid fabrication and mechanical abilities.
Clear written and interpersonal communication skills for interacting across all levels of the company.
Basic math skills and the ability to stand for extended periods while using tools.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime.
