Position Summary:
We are seeking a Laser Burn Operator Helper for our client located in Decatur, AL. In this role, you will assist Laser operator & perform entry level or repetitive machine operation duties. Employee will work in extreme Heat & Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes and Metallic Particles. Employee will be exposed to the hazards of working with heavy machinery. Employee is required to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel toed boots with metatarsal and hearing protection. Responsibilities:- Operate horizontal and vertical band saws to cut metal materials to specified dimensions.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measuring instruments.
- Set up saw equipment and adjust cutting parameters as needed.
- Measure and verify material dimensions before and after cutting.
- Inspect finished materials to ensure quality standards are met.
- Load, unload, and move materials using forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment when authorized.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Must have HS Diploma
- Previous manufacturing or metal fabrication experience preferred.
- Experience operating band saws or other metal-cutting equipment preferred.
- Ability to read tape measures, calipers, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and metal materials.
- Experience in steel, aluminum, or metal fabrication environments.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Must pass a Background & Drug Screen
