Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Burn Table Operator to join a manufacturing and metal fabrication operation in Catoosa. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC plasma and oxy-fuel cutting equipment to produce metal components according to blueprints, work orders, and production specifications.
The ideal candidate has previous CNC, plasma, or oxy-fuel cutting experience, can accurately read blueprints and measurements, and is comfortable making machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and cut quality.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous plasma cutting, oxy-fuel cutting, or CNC equipment experience preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and production documentation
Basic computer skills for operating CNC machine controls
Ability to accurately read and use tape measures and other measuring equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment awareness
Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy
Ability to inspect completed parts against specifications and tolerances
Ability to work independently and as part of a fabrication team
Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
Strong commitment to workplace safety
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC burn table equipment according to production requirements
Operate plasma cutting and oxy-fuel cutting equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and cutting specifications
Load, position, and secure metal plates and materials onto cutting equipment
Select or verify appropriate machine settings for assigned work
Monitor cutting operations throughout production runs
Make machine adjustments as necessary to maintain cut quality and dimensional accuracy
Verify completed components meet required specifications and tolerances
Identify cutting defects or equipment concerns and make appropriate corrections
Remove completed parts from the burn table
Remove slag and clean cut components
Prepare finished materials for welding, fabrication, or the next production process
Perform additional burn table and fabrication duties as assigned
Quality & Inspection Responsibilities
Inspect completed parts for dimensional accuracy
Verify cut components against blueprints and production drawings
Use tape measures, squares, calipers, gauges, and related measuring equipment
Identify improperly cut or nonconforming components
Maintain consistent cut quality throughout production runs
Report material, machine, or quality concerns to supervision

Mechanical troubleshooting ability
Maintenance & Workplace Responsibilities
Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on cutting equipment
Monitor machine condition and identify potential equipment problems
Report maintenance concerns or equipment malfunctions promptly
Keep the burn table and surrounding production area clean and organized
Maintain tools and measuring equipment appropriately
Follow all company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Ability to safely handle metal components and production materials
Manual dexterity required for machine controls and measuring equipment
Ability to safely work around cutting equipment, hot metal, sparks, and industrial machinery
Comfortable performing physically active fabrication work throughout an extended shift
Ability to safely perform assigned duties while wearing required PPE
Work Environment
Industrial metal fabrication and manufacturing environment
Regular work around CNC plasma and oxy-fuel cutting equipment
Hands-on position involving metal plate, cutting machinery, measuring equipment, and material handling
